Locks can be used to keep ideas out or in. Are you secure, or a prisoner? Creativity can be easily locked behind thought patterns that are good, but out of context.

This door was locked in an old abandoned store, that's good, but the wall next to the door was completely gone. Good ideas out of context aren't bad ideas, they just don't work where they are being employed.

Your team has the keys to be creative, do they know how to use them?

Open doors of creativity and add fresh air to your organization, from within your own group. Most people are creative but their creativity is locked inside traditional thinking or they aren't empowered to color outside of the lines.

Some people are foundational in your organization. They're your team of invested people that believe in what you are doing and are in it for the long haul. These people have passion and buy in. You build on them and what they can do and invest in their lives.

There are others that are extended members of your organization. They add the cosmetics to what you do. They're long-term but not permanent. Invest in them to keep your organization fresh and current by what they can offer you in return.

Then there are those that are not a long-term or permanent part of your organization, but they are vital. They're more like scaffolding. You bring them in for one reason, to help you reach higher and further. They are temporary, but you don't throw them away when you're done with the current project, because you'll definately need them again.
